Media Practice

I bought this digital camera on Temu because I am a student just starting up, so I chose something cheap and affordable. So far, I have taken some pictures and some videos and it does work well. With the right amount of lighting, this can be useable in some demo reels or timelines.

For now, I just took some photos. I did order a shotgun microphone, but it has not arrived yet currently, so when it arrives, I will shoot some videos and see how it goes.

These are one of the products on my media production shopping list, so I will keep you updated!

For now, here are a couple of shots I took... and then I will show you the same shots, but I edited and tweaked it to make it more presentable.

    I must say, it does not pick up details well, but overall it does well for a cheap camera. Smartphones pick up much better details than this camera. I can see this camera being used for vintage/old school films. It's not a Canon, but it will do for now... The camera is a 16.0 Mega Pixel and I took those pictures with the Macro lens.

Football: William & Mary vs. Coastal Carolina

Pregame: 5:30 PM        Enjoyed my time last night at Marrio and Josh Norman Field House, watching Coastal Carolina University football team's first home game of the season! According to reports, it was our 4th largest attended game. I enjoyed them defeating William & Mary 40 to 21. Honestly, I was surprised that the game was 24 to 7 (CCU leading) at halftime because there were a couple of blown coverages on our defense. Hopefully, that will be fixed next game. B-Roll Practice

Black (White Stripes) Mustang    Today, I had the opportunity to practice more b-roll shots. I attended an event near downtown Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. I felt like I was much better holding the camera than the last time I practiced shooting film. Again, I used my phone as the camera to shoot b-roll shots. Funny, I was holding my phone with one hand instead of two because I was holding ice cream in my other hand.    The more I continue to do this, the more I become interested in photography. I enjoy the art of positioning for the perfect shot based off of angles, lighting, background, etc. My ambition towards obtaining quality-level media will make news articles and broadcast segments more appealing and attractive for the audience.
